It was last March that my brother inspired me to take a spontaneous trip to Beacon with him. There was a pop-up record shop featured in a small, rentable business space there. He walked out that day with a collection of his favorite records, while I walked out with the discovery of one of my favorite destinations in The Hudson Valley.
Over the course of the past year I've made quite a few more trips over to Beacon; A place that blends rustic, industrial landscaping with a wildly progressive community. If you're looking for a day trip destination this is the place.
Glazed Over Donuts, 315 Main Street
This picture does not do the taste justice. As I'm sure you can tell from my previous posts, I'm quite the donut lover. Homemade donuts are the way to go when it comes to preparing them and Glazed Over Donuts makes them fresh to order with your own customizable toppings.
You're able to design your very own donut as you pick a flavored icing, a topping and a lastly, a drizzle. Some of my personal favorites from the trip can be seen to the left.

This place is always updating their donut of the day which makes it even more tempting to check back in to soon. Not to mention they have the perfect donut pairing available as well... COFFEE.
Beacon Bath & Bubble, LLC., 458 Main Street
If your sweet tooth isn't satisfied with a donut, than head down the road to this cute shop filled with all things bubbles! My personal favorite part of this store was the wall dedicated to crafted soda pop in old fashioned bottles. They have almost every flavor imaginable and even offered floats if you prefer your bubbles with a bit of ice cream to taste.
This is the perfect place to find a unique gift for someone special, or to treat yourself to a nice bath product. Yes, bubbles here aren't just from the soda. Beacon Bath & Bubble offers an array of natural handmade soaps that have a number of unique smells to choose from.
But thats not all...
This town is also home to a number of thrift stores, book stores, gift stores and plenty of food hot spots for anyone in Dutchess County looking to explore.
